Security coding is a process in which a chemical solution is used to etch numbers into windows of a vehicle, which cannot be removed.

The numbers are then entered into a national database with the customer's name, address, and phone number, as well as the vehicle's year, make, model and V.I.N.

Although no security system will ensure that your car won't be stolen, some systems are more effective than others. Security coding's effectiveness is based on a number of factors.
